Isn’t It Ignorant To Say There’s No God Or Higher Being That Created Us?

Filed in Category Christian Astronomy

Question Posed – How can people say that, when we don’t even know what the hell is out in the vast universe? I looked through an advanced telescope at an astronomy center and you can see galaxies over 300 million light years away. It’s really amazing. Lord knows what the hell is out there. Just because you can’t see this God or higher being on earth, doesn’t mean he doesn’t exist somewhere outside this earth. With such things as black holes etc, who knows what they’re for. You look at all the stars in the sky and see so many of them, yet the nearest one is 4.2 light years away. We can barely send people to the moon for Christs sake. Not to mention it takes years to send a satellite to mars and we’re right next to it!
I guess some people are just simple minded like that. They only know and see earth and aren’t looking at the bigger picture, just a very small portion of it.

Yes. It is also ignorant to say fairy god mother do not exist because it is found in most fairy tales books. Shame on these people.

  2. Radical Centrist Said:

All that you discussed proves nothing more than that the phenomena exist. When you start to infer things that aren’t there, you start to hypothesize. Hypotheses aren’t proof. They need to be proven.
Therefore, if someone doesn’t see God it isn’t out of ignorance. They have just come to a different conclusion than you have. Both conclusions are valid until they have been proven or disproven.

  3. Opiniona Said:

And for that very same reason, I dismiss anyone who claim they hold the One truth – Be it the truth of a creator or anything else.
We know less about the Universe than an ant understands about your house.
So how are you in any position to speculate about some supposed creator? Or what he may want from us, if anything.

  4. Gazoo Said:

Room for a god isn’t evidence there is one. And we have imaged things 13 billion LY away, not just 300 million. It isn’t the 1950s.
All that looking and there still isn’t any sign there is a god. It ought to tell you something.

  5. WRen Said:

I think some people don’t believe in God b/c they don’t understand it. Just like many religious people don’t understand carbon-dating or other proven scientific facts. They have no way of relating to it, is what I’m trying to say.

  6. Rebecca K Said:

Of coarse we don’t know everything that is out there. But what does believing in god have to do with seeing the universe? Just because people don’t believe in god, doesn’t mean that they only see what’s on earth. Atheists have telescopes too…lol

  7. Molly R search bar advocate Said:

It seems pretty ignorant to assume that there is a god when you have absolutely no evidence of it.
Don’t you have a bridge to guard?

I’m agnostic. I don’t know if there is a God. But there is no empirical evidence for any deities and naturalistic processes better explain our universe.
